Individual Therapy

Many approaches to trauma work focus on helping the client learn tools for tolerating the suffering of traumatic experience or guide the client through re-experiencing the traumatic event in a transformative way. Brian enjoys using hypnotherapy to reprocess trauma memory because of it's solution focused approach.
Trauma doesn't necessitate re-experiencing to achieve resolution. In some cases, trauma can be too overwhelming and failing to be able to tolerate the pain can trigger more feelings of failure and incompetence in the client. Hypnotherapy empowers the client and seeks to generate the resourceful state of mind that brings resolution to the memory.

Many people I have talked to have described their attempts to quit nicotine like a football player that can take the ball all the way to the goal line and then fail to finish that final step. The frustration and shame that comes from being stuck in a nicotine addiction makes it harder and even seeking help can feel challenging. However, I have watched those same individuals overcome the challenge and cross that goal line.
One of the main factors is the difference between wishfully thinking that they can quit and making the decision that they are going to quit. My methods are collaborative, meaning that I have tools to help, but you must be determined if you are going to succeed.
